Expending agribusiness in Rwanda with SOUK Farms
SOUK Farms is an agribusiness based in Rwanda that grows and exports fresh high–quality fruit and vegetables to Europe and The Middle East. By combining commercial farming with a strong social mission, the company is helping to build a more inclusive and sustainable agricultural sector in Rwanda.

Connecting smallholder farmers to global markets
SOUK Farms works with over 1,200 smallholder farmers, providing them with seeds, training, irrigation support, and access to international markets. Its main crops include avocados, chillies, French beans, and sugar snap peas. By investing in cold chain logistics, the company minimises food spoilage while enabling year-round produce availability. Through job creation, sustainable practices, and higher farmer incomes, Souk Farms makes a lasting impact on smallholder livelihoods.
Why Goodwell invested
SOUK Farms tackles agricultural inefficiencies in Rwanda by combining in-house farming operations with a wide network of smallholder out-growers, creating sustainable market linkages and boosting farmer income through high-value horticulture. SOUK Farms’ integration of cold chain infrastructure, local job creation, and gender-inclusive hiring reinforces our shared mission to uplift underserved agricultural markets.
Recent achievements and future ambitions
SOUK Farms shifted from a loss- to breaking-even-position in 2025, driven by increased output from their network of farmers. This is part of a bigger impact picture: compared to the national benchmark of 40% post-harvest losses, SOUK Farms’ 17% post-harvest loss rate demonstrates the tangible impact of its cold chain infrastructure and farmer training programs – ultimately enabling more people to access more affordable food. The company continues delivering high-quality, gender-inclusive livelihoods, with women representing nearly 70% of their employees.
Revolutionising farming with impact and quality
“Where we have the biggest impact is with our farming partners: I typically don’t refer to our smallholder farmers as smallholder farmers. I refer to them as our farming partners and it brings me great joy to actually see the impact we make in the lives of our average farmers.”
