Goodwell consistently helped to uplift Africa’s innovators and entrepreneurs in 2024, making real, tangible impacts on people, households, and communities across the continent. Our investments drove improvement in access, quality, and affordability of basic goods and services and enabled improvements to underlying ecosystems and supply chains, making impact-driven companies more capable of overcoming whatever lies ahead.
Through our portfolio, in 2024 Goodwell supported the creation of 5,513 jobs (1,793 of which are held by women), reached 350,467 smallholder farmers and 533,003 financial agents, and impacted over 38 million end users.
Strategic investment to drive inclusive growth
Goodwell has five offices across Africa and Europe, and last year we achieved B Corp certification on our journey of continuous improvement. With a portfolio that spans Africa and India, we emphasise gender, financial, and digital inclusion. We do this through strategic investments in industries with the highest potential for positive, inclusive impact: financial services, agriculture and food, mobility and logistics, and other high-impact sectors, like clean energy.
In 2024, 100% of our portfolio companies had women serving on their boards or the senior management team, and we continued to model gender parity on our own team, too. We were proud to announce new investments in the financial inclusion sector with ABC, the mobility and logistics sector with OmniRetail, and a follow-on investment in agricultural innovator Souk Farms.
